Xicheng District’s Desheng Community Health Service Center Takes Strict and Detailed Measures to Prevent and Control Epidemic
As one of the “front lines” for the novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control, Xicheng District’s Desheng Community Health Service Center has worked hard on supervision, joint prevention and control, and extensive publicity, in order to ensure that 120000 residents living in the jurisdiction of Desheng Sub-district acquire right knowledge on epidemic prevention and receive medical treatment safely, and that medical workers carry out epidemic prevention and control measures in the right way.
The center has shot 21 mini videos and posted them to residents via WeChat. The content of the videos covers the use of mask, ventilation and disinfection, patient pre-check and triage, and home-based health management by family doctor teams. All the staff members of the center are required to watch the videos, so that they know clearly about related knowledge.
Moreover, Desheng Community Health Service Center pays attention to details about community epidemic prevention and control. When patients go to the center, they will be guided to two different areas, one for adults and one for children. In the waiting area on each floor, the gap between waiting room chairs is widened to avoid close contact between patients. Hand sanitizers are placed in places where patients often pass or stay, such as information desk, dispensary, waiting rooms, corridors, etc. Before entering the clinic room, patients are instructed to disinfect their hands with quick-drying hand sanitizer to prevent possible virus transmission through the door handle.
20 family doctor teams cooperate one-to-one with 20 communities of Desheng Sub-district to set up a joint prevention and control mechanism. Community workers conduct daily inspection, and then send the inspection list to family doctor teams. Family doctors monitor residents’ physical health twice a day, and issue certificates to people who can be discharged from medical observation. The family doctor teams also popularize epidemic prevention and control knowledge, such as how to disinfect and ventilate in a correct way, to people under home-based medical observation, as well as provide them health counselling service.
The center also conducts unified management and timely training for care workers, cleaners, security personnel, cafeteria workers, and medical waste collection personnel, to prevent them from virus infection and guide them to do a good job in epidemic prevention and control.
