Online “Fruit and Vegetable Express” Launched: Yuetan Sub-District Creatively Guarantees Residents’ Life

Xicheng District’s Yuetan Sub-district Citizen Service Center and Beijing Academy of Science and Technology’s Loho House have co-launched two online services, in order to better guarantee local residents’ life during the epidemic prevention and control period. One is to launch an online “Fruit and Vegetable Express”. Fresh vegetables and fruits can be delivered from vegetable fields and wholesale markets directly to residents without direct contact. The other is to provide free live online courses to meet residents’ needs for epidemic prevention knowledge.

By now, the online “Fruit and Vegetable Express” has been carried out in four communities. Residents can place an order online every Monday to Friday, and goods will be delivered on Saturdays. Staff members will call residents one by one according to order numbers, in order to avoid crowding. And residents can fetch the goods without direct people-to-people contact. As of February 10, more than 300 residents have benefited from the service.

In addition, another new service has been launched by Yuetan Sub-district recently. Courses on epidemic prevention and control, psychological counseling, and health will be given on live online programs.
